What is agentic engineering?
In KlugSpice, agentic engineering means using coordinated AI agents to carry out defined engineering tasks: drafting requirements, exploring architecture, preparing verification and organising evidence. Each task uses project sources and produces work that engineers can review.
The goal is to shorten the path from an engineering need to useful, reviewed work. It includes the work around implementation: deciding what a product must do, how its parts fit together, how it will be verified and which evidence supports those decisions.

How does an engineering task move through KlugSpice?
- Define the project. Select the industry, assessment framework, permitted sources and review process.
- Ask for an engineering outcome. For example, prepare a warning function’s requirements, compare architecture options or identify verification gaps.
- Prepare and check the work. Specialist agents use the relevant sources to draft work products. Separate checks identify issues for review.
- Pass approved context to the IDE. Coding agents receive requirements, interfaces, constraints and test expectations for the implementation task.
- Review and update. Engineers decide what to approve. Approved work returns to the configured engineering tools, with traceability and evidence linked to the task.

How do KlugSpice and coding agents work together?
KlugSpice prepares and connects engineering work across the project. A coding agent uses the approved task context to help implement a change in the development environment. Capabilities can overlap; the table describes their roles in the KlugSpice workflow.

What does assessment readiness mean?
Assessment readiness means having the work products, supporting evidence, traceability and review records needed for the selected assessment scope—and knowing which gaps remain. A collection of generated documents is only useful when engineers can establish its relevance, consistency and connection to the work.
KlugSpice checks existing records, identifies missing or weak evidence, prepares findings and helps track improvement actions. Readiness scores guide preparation; they do not guarantee a formal assessment outcome.
Automotive SPICE addresses development-process assessment and capability. IEC 62304 defines medical device software lifecycle processes. Where should a team start?
Choose one workflow with a clear bottleneck and reviewable outputs. Requirement drafting, architecture comparison, test preparation and assessment gap analysis are practical starting points. Agree the available data, tools and review responsibilities before connecting the project.

- A record produced by engineering work, such as a requirement specification, architecture description, test procedure or review record.
- Traceability
- Links that let an engineer follow a requirement to its source, design, verification and supporting evidence—and follow those relationships back.
- Change-impact analysis
- Examining the connected requirements, components, tests and records that may need attention when something changes.
